Now.
A year and a half ago, not so much.

Along with a bigger butt came bigger legs and a bigger back.  A more muscular me.
Some LOVE it, some don’t.
I myself struggled to accept the new body I created by training for figure competitions.

The muscle that you work so hard to put on by training like a madwoman for months and months doesn’t just magically disappear once you walk off that stage.

It remains as your body returns to a more reasonable body fat percentage.

Just as it took time to build that beautiful physique it takes time for your body and mind to adjust if you decide to step out of the figure training periodization scheme.

Those of you who haven’t trained as hard or as long as I have should think before you speak…
and like your momma always said
“If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”

The following are two ads from NIKE that speak to millions of women including this one 🙂

A woman is often measured by the things she cannot control.
She is measured by the way her body curves or doesn’t curve, by where she is flat or straight or round.
She is measured by 36-24-36 and inches and ages and numbers, by all the outside things that don’t ever add up to who she is on the inside.
And so if a woman is to be measured let her be measured by the things she can control, by who she is and who she is trying to become.
Because as every woman knows, measurements are only statistics,
AND STATISTICS LIE.
