Did you know that your lower abs and pelvic floor are a reflection of each other?
I have a lot of women complain about a lower belly pooch postpartum.
This often isn’t about excess skin or a diastasis. It ends up being more about their ability to recruit certain abdominal muscles easier than others.
You TA or lower abs get super stretched out during pregnancy, making it more difficult to recruit them in the postpartum period. This could be decades after giving birth!
This is one of the first core exercises I teach my postpartum clients and you bet that ALL my clients perform some variation of dead bugs in their strength training routines.
As with all exercises its not which you do…its HOW YOU PERFORM THEM that matter most.
